Protection Assistant

Job Type: Temporary, Fixed Term (up to December 31, 2018)

Salary & Benefits: BDT. 368,562 per annum (13 months) gross with other benefits as per Oxfam policy

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are urgently looking for a dynamic team players who will work with the Emergency Response team under Oxfam, GB’s community- based protection activities in selected refugee camps and host communities in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Report to Protection Officer Teknaf.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

Bachelor degree in related field
Two years’ experience in community-based protection programming or related field
Prior work experience Cox’s Bazar
Basic understanding of protection issues
Experience in different types of data-gathering methodology (surveys, focus group discussions and key informant interviews)
Good understanding of the context and key protection issues, including the constraints, sensitivities and risks associated with such work
Capacity to analyze information and ability to apply professional and ethical standards to data collection and analysis processes, and research
Excellent verbal and communication skills. Fluency in speaking Chittagong dialect and Bangla language is essential
Capacity to write simple English reports essential
Able to live and work in remote, insecure and logistically challenging operations and in a multi-cultural environment; with a high level of self-reliance, adaptability and initiative
Initiative, drive to achieve results, working with others, organizational awareness, respect for others and self-awareness.
Basic Chittagong or Rohingya language skills
